First time patients must register with the department of health before scheduling an appointment to be certified. You will need a valid PA drivers license or state ID in order to register.
To register with the state, go to www.health.pa.gov
1) Click on the medical marijuana icon
2) Click on apply for ID/access account
3) Select the option that applies (adult patient registration versus caregiver registration)
4) Complete form entering information exactly as it appears on your ID
**be sure to save the username and password you created

Every year, there are 2 steps for recertification:
1) Schedule an appointment with an MMJ doctor
2) Pay the state the yearly fee for the new card. Even if the fee is waived because you are on government assistance, you must still go in and do this step.
The department of health sends reminder emails every year when it’s time to do these 2 steps. Be sure to save your username and password because you need them every year to renew

The state will send you an email every year with the payment due date and a link to make the payment.
If you cannot locate the email, you can go to www.health.pa.gov
1) Then click on the medical marijuana picture
2) Then click on apply for ID/access my account.
3) Then enter your username and password
4) Once you are logged into your account, click MAKE PAYMENT
If you are unable to log into your account, you must call the Department of Health helpdesk for assistance (888-773-5595)

No. A new card is mailed to you within 7-21 days. If your old card has already expired, you cannot enter a dispensary until your new card arrives

According to the department of health, caregivers must be 21 years of age and are required to get a background check and fingerprinted.
Please note that caregivers do not need to be certified by a doctor; only the patient needs an annual appointment

Most cards arrive in the mail within 7-10 days, however it can take up to 21 days. If you haven’t received your card within 21 days, you must call the department of health at 888-773-5575 for assistance

Below is a full list of qualifying conditions. Patients are required to provide brief medical documentation showing their diagnosis.
A "serious medical condition" under the law is any one of the following:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
Anxiety disorders
Autism
Cancer, including remission therapy
Crohn's disease
Damage to the nervous tissue of the central nervous system (brain-spinal cord) with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity, and other associated neuropathies
Dyskinetic and spastic movement disorders
Epilepsy
Glaucoma
HIV / AIDS
Huntington's disease
Inflammatory bowel disease
Intractable seizures
Multiple sclerosis
Neurodegenerative diseases
Neuropathies
Opioid use disorder
Parkinson's disease
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Severe chronic or intractable pain of neuropathic origin or severe chronic or intractable pain
Sickle cell anemia
Terminal illness
Tourette syndrome

During the pandemic, telemedicine was made into law for medical marijuana certifications. As a result, we no longer have a physical office. All appointments are now done by phone

Our new patient fee is $150 . A new patient is someone who has never had a medical card in PA (This fee is waived by our practice for US military veterans)
This fee does NOT include the $50 fee to the state for the card which is paid after your initial appointment (This fee is waived by the state for those patients on government assistance)
For patients renewing an existing card, our fee is $50 ($25 for US veterans). This does not include the fee for the card

If you need to change your phone number, email or mailing address with the department of health, you can log into your account at www.health.pa.gov
Once you are logged into your account, you can update this information by clicking on PROFILE SETTINGS at the top of the page
